Join in the public launch of the Rural Immigration Network!
The Rural Immigration Network website shares good ideas and practical information about innovative events, programs and initiatives that build community among immigrants and longer-term residents in rural towns around the United States. The development of the Network was supported in part by a grant in Fall 2014 through the “Broadening the Bridge” project to Professor Kathy Tegtmeyer Pak (political science, St. Olaf) and Dr. Adrienne Falcón (sociology and anthropology, Carleton).
The launch will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015, from 5:30-6:30 pm at the Viking Theater in Buntrock Commons at St Olaf. The event will feature remarks from Dr. Pak; Mr. Sam Ouk, ELL Coordinator for the Faribault Public Schools; and three student researchers from St Olaf College – Bianca Renteria, Peder Tune, and Eleanor Worley.
